This is the part of the Park County Cares network that deals with transportation issues: Ride sharing, public transit, etc.
Ride Sharing
Are you driving to Bozeman and want to share gas costs with a rider? Are you trying to get to Billings, but don't have a car? Do you have room in your car to give someone a ride to Gardiner? The forum below is intended to be a place where people can link up to carpool on a regular basis OR share a ride for a single trip.
Here's how it works:
-> First you need to Sign Up for this page. Even if you are already a member of Park County Cares, you will need to sign up here (click Sign Up in the upper right corner). When you sign up, you will be asked to give the names of two people in the community who can vouch for you.
-> Once you have joined, in the Forum below look at the postings that are already there. If you see what you are looking for, click on the name of the person who started the discussion. This will open that person's profile page. You will be able to see his or her reference names listed. If you don't know the person you are contacting, you can contact the reference to decide if the contact is a legitimate local you can trust. If you decide to contact him or her, you can simply write a comment where it says "Leave a comment for..." The person will be sent an email telling him or her that there is a comment and giving a link where he/she can go to read your comment. He/she can send a comment back the same way. At any point you two can exchange phone numbers to make arrangements directly.
->If you would like to post your own ride, go to the bottom of the Forum box and click on the words Start Discussion. In the Discussion Title box that appears, type in either "Driving to [destination] on [date]" or "Need a ride to [destination] on [date]." Then, in the Post box (below the title bar) type in your message. You should repeat the destination and date, add specific times if you need them, say how many riders you can carry if you're driving, say how many of you are going if you're looking for a ride, mention that you'd like to share gas costs.
->If someone comments on your wall in response to your post, or if someone replies in the Forum, you have the option of going to his or her profile page and checking the reference names before you continue making arrangements. This is strictly your choice. You are responsible for your own safety when using this network.
